IPL 2014 Schedule For UAE -First 20 Matches Announced

After the decision of hosting seventh edition of the Indian Premier League in three countries i.e. UAE, Bangladesh and India, IPL Governing Council has announced the schedule for the UAE leg of the tournament.

In total there will be 20 matches hosted in the United Arab Emirates starting from 16th April and the last match in UAE will be played on 30th April. The information was given by BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel in a press release on the IPL official website.

The stadiums which are short listed to host these 20 matches are the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi; the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai and the Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, Sharjah. In the opening match of the IPL 2014 Mumbai Indians will be clashing against the Kolkata Knight Riders at Abu Dhabi on April 16th.IPL 2014 Schedule

After the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India,  took the initiative to allow matches in India after the General Lok Sabha elections many of the State Governments have indicated confirmation for holding matches in their respective states.

The BCCI hopes that the IPL 2014 matches can be held in India from the first week of May. The schedule for the rest of the 40 IPL 7 matches is to be released soon by the BCCI.
